This role supports Chevron Shipping Company, which operates approximately 30 US and Bahamas flag oil tankers and LNG carriers operating globally and provides marine functional support for enterprise marine activities.

As The Senior Corporate Affairs Shipping Advisor, You Will:
Oversee the development and execution of internal and external communications strategies, create and implement Chevron Shipping’s stakeholder engagement and issues management program and proactively identify risks to the business and develop mitigation strategies.
This role is expected to have an in-depth knowledge of the maritime business and advise senior management on the most effective communication strategies to aimed at a variety of internal and external audiences.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage the Corporate Affairs element of emergency response to any potential incidents, including being able to work under the Incident Command System (ICS)
- Develop internal communications plans to build strong employee engagement throughout the Shipping organization.
- Partner closely with the External Media Relations team to help manage press inquiries and develop external communication strategies, including executive visibility plans.
- Support Midstream Corporate Affairs Manager on the execution of corporate communications projects, including industry events, speaking engagements and media opportunities.
- Coordinate and develop briefing materials and presentations to executives, corporate departments, business segments, trade associations, and government officials.
- Collaborate and enhance the work of the subject matter experts supporting marine industry association efforts globally including oil and gas marine transportation, marine terminals, marine offshore support and transport, emerging technologies, alternative fuels and related enterprise issues.
- Work across all business segments and functional groups.
- Represent Chevron on trade/industry association committees and participate on internal project teams.
Requirements
- 10+ years relevant working experience in corporate affairs in a marine setting.
- Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn the business, develop strong relationships and learn the voice of the customer.
- Proven experience tracking and sharing progress on work and outcomes with stakeholders by understanding their needs and preferences; meeting targets and objectives; effective time management, organization, and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a collaborative, team-driven environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of communications strategies, concepts and practices, excellent oral and written communication skills including AP style and writing for a different number of mediums
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Incident Command System (ICS) and experience in marine incident response.
