Responsibilities:
Acts as a project lead by establishing development plans and preparing for design reviews. Guides others on engineering tools, test specifications and assesses application of Health, Safety, and Environment techniques during the design process. Applies and interprets engineering calculations to obtain design solutions and troubleshoot erroneous results. Defines input requirements and develops functional specifications by utilizing basic statistical methods and reliability techniques. Contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions. Creates an impactful relationship with Halliburton’s technical community, customers, and vendors by proactively collaborating with key stakeholders. Participates in professional societies in area of specialization. Skills acquired through the completion of a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. Minimum educational requirement of a doctoral degree and zero years’ experience or a master’s degree and two or more years’ related experience or a bachelor’s degree and four or more years’ related experience
Job Role:
- Plans, conducts, and directs analysis, modification and designs for coil tubing surface equipment and hydraulic workover snubbing equipment
- Experience with Design and Build of Hydraulic Equipment
- Devises new approaches to solve problems
- Incorporates reliability, HSE and Quality analysis techniques during the design process
- Utilizes SolidWorks to generate design modifications or new designs before handoff for drafting of drawing
- Completes structural calculations during development of design modifications & new designs
- Completes FEA analysis on design modifications & new designs as required
- Completes DFMEA and PFMEA reviews on new design developments
- Utilizes DFM & DFA techniques during generation of design modifications and new designs
- Generates test plans and procedures as required for design modifications and new design development
- Utilizes lean six sigma root cause analysis as required during investigation of incidents
- Learns and utilizes project management skills in the organization and execution of project assignments, as necessary
Education, Licensure, and Experience:
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline required to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
- Completion of a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline - Preferred
- Completion of a doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline – Preferred
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
Other Experience:
- Design Engineering which includes experience in Mechanical Surface Equipment
- Design Engineering which includes experience in Hydraulic Workover Snubbing Equipment
- Expertise in SolidWorks 3D Modeling
- CWI Expertise
- Excel Advanced Math Calculations (including macro development) Expertise
