The Fuels Compliance Specialis t position oversees all regulatory issues associated with finished fuels produced, imported, and exported from Los Angeles Refinery. This position reports to the Optimization Manager at Los Angeles Refinery.
Responsibilities may include:
Responsible for personal safety, high quality work and compliance with all Company policies.
Maintains position playbook and attends training aligned with needs and with manager approval.
Participates as a member of the Incident Command System.
Performs routine and special assignments as assigned by the Optimization Manager.
Fuels Compliance:
Performs final compliance review and reporting for fuels manufactured at the refinery.
Tracks and maintains the CA/EPA PACE database which is used for compliance.
Performs annual EPA and Arizona internal gasoline audit/attestation.
Develops and supports many of the tools used for fuels compliance.
Provides coordination, inside and outside of LAR, including interface with government agencies.
Stays current on fuels regulations.
Provides support to the LAR laboratory associated with regulatory changes to specifications.
Provides analysis of opportunity gasoline blend stocks and assists the gasoline scheduler utilizing the blending linear program.
Provides guidance to the refinery finance group regarding volumetric accounting and reporting of fuel shipments
Lead cross-functional team to reduce gasoline and distillate product giveaway.
Provides vacation relief backup to the gasoline blender and/or LPG Scheduler position.
Provides vacation relief backup to the Financial Analyst position.
Required
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Bachelor's degree
1 or more years or refining, manufacturing, and/or control lab experience.
Proficient in MS Office
Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science
5 or more years or experience in a refinery
2 or more years petroleum lab experience
Supervisory experience working with a technical and/or laboratory workforce
Experience working with inspection companies.
Working knowledge and/or user experience in linear programming (w/preference to PIMS)
Results oriented, excellent influence, follow up, planning and organizational skills
Strong background in QA/QC laboratory processes

Compensation
The base pay range for this role is $100,000 – $144,000 depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and education.
