We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated individual to fill the position of Technical Superintendent within our Chemical Manufacturing Facility located in Geismar, Louisiana. Essential Job Duties: · Maintain protection of the environment and the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the communities in which we operate and or transport our products, as our highest priority. · Provide attention to detail, and dedication to work in order to ensure reliability of the work site as well as high quality product. · Ensure that yourself and others are respected, supported and encouraged to grow and succeed in their job. · Support the safety process systems through participation in planned inspections, job observations, near miss reporting, incident investigation, and other programs as required. · Responsible for supervising and directing PSM engineer(s) and providing direction to achieve an OSHA compliant PSM program for the site. · Participates in and oversees the Management of Change Process. Reviews and approves appropriate change documents. Ensures the risk of change is minimized by evaluating that risk from a technical perspective. · Responsible for supervising and directing Process and/or DCS engineers. Assigns projects and priorities for completion. Monitors and directs engineering efforts to insure successful and timely completion of such projects. Develops inexperienced engineers so that they become proficient in their career path and fulfilled working for OxyChem. · Responsible for supervising and directing the plant QC lab and/or IT functions as assigned by the Technical Manager. · Maintains a high level of process knowledge for plant processes as assigned by the Technical Manager. Evaluates and recommends process improvements. Acts as a trouble-shooting resource for the operations supervision. Offers technical ability and methodologies for problem solving. · Monitors variable efficiencies and fixed utility usages. Identifies and drives projects to improve efficiencies. · Ensures that industry best practices are adhered to. Ensures that technical "know-how" is communicated throughout the organization. · Performs incident investigations and release / maintenance emission calculations as required. Remains current on environmental permits and regulations. · Support and implement the Plant’s Quality Program. · Strive to learn all aspects of the Technical Manager role and backfill for the Technical Manager when he away from the site. *LY-BC1
