OxyChem is hiring at the landmark STRATOS Direct Air Capture facility in the Permian Basin, seeking those who can apply their technical, managerial, process and safety experience to an important new frontier industry. In addition to the chance to work at this momentous new complex, Oxy offers a competitive total rewards package that includes: - Medical/dental/vision with HSA & FSA options - Life and AD&D insurance - Short and Long-Term Disability - Generous PTO Program - Company paid holidays - Wellness Program - Educational assistance program - Begin investing to your 401(K) and Retirement on your first day with combined 14% company matching - Diverse and inclusive environment with growth and learning opportunities - Flexible schedules - Pregnancy Leave, Bonding Leave and Family Care Leave Description As the Operations Manager at our Direct Air Capture facility in Notrees, TX you will: - Support the core values of the organization through establishing expectations and maintaining a focus on safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost consciousness, reliability, and operations - Uphold the rules, regulations, and practices of the OxyChem Safety and Environmental Programs, including attendance of safety meetings, participation in emergency drills, incident investigations, and assisting in routine plant inspections - Ensure that the plant operates in a safe and environmentally responsible manner while achieving high productivity and low costs - Responsible for the overall operation, logistics, and maintenance of the facility - Provide strong leadership for the area and effectively manage the operations to make optimum use of the plant facilities and personnel and ensures safe, environmentally sound, reliable, and efficient operations to manufacture quality products - Participate in daily, weekly, monthly and annual planning processes as appropriate - Provide management support for the development of, and adherence to, operational and maintenance procedures and supporting documents as required for safe, effective, and efficient operations - Develop the personnel in the department, direct work assignments, evaluate employee performance, and conduct employee discipline in a manner that is consistent with company policies and procedures - Support the technician training and qualification process through oversight, review, and guidance of the training program - Develop the manufacturing strategy and plans for the facility’s equipment, cost, legal requirements, and people - Prepare and administer the operations and maintenance budget, support facility cost reduction, synergy and low-cost provider initiatives, and approve expenditures for materials and services required to maintain safe and effective operations within approved expenditure levels and expectations - Develop, establish and maintain systems for key performance indicator metrics for tracking and measuring system performance against business objectives - Maintain close communications with Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, Tech Services, and Transportation to ensure that customer’s requirements are understood, and necessary actions are taken to maximize customer satisfaction - Ensure open lines of communication exist across plant departments and with all plant employees
