Initiate and develop commercial Land strategies and asset monetization tactics through cross-functional portfolio analysis, competitive intelligence and leveraging external relationships with landowners, industry counterparts, government agencies and communities.
Job Description
Land Representative is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of Land Management duties for oil & gas pipelines & facilities associated with a geographic region.
Responsibilities include acquiring surface rights (surface leases, ROW/easements, water rights, purchase of fee property, etc.), settling surface damages, negotiating, and drafting traditional and complex land use agreements, researching courthouse and Land records, working with gov't officials, and clearing title/performing curative work for new pipelines and existing infrastructure. Working knowledge of all Land systems including QLS, Thought Trace and QGIS. Provide competent Land and business guidance to asset teams, key stakeholders, and management. Provide work direction to contract land agents and outside legal counsel. Ability to build strong internal and external relationships.
Essential position functions: The Land Representative is expected to manage all agreements as well as overseeing all related land functions needed by the Company to conduct its business.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Establishes and maintains good relationships with surface owners and local governmental officials and agencies.

Negotiate terms and drafts agreements, including surface use agreements, pipeline rights of way and easements, operating agreement, and other Land/Legal/Business agreements. Settle surface damages and ensures necessary access to company assets.

Thorough understanding of surface use agreements, easements, pipeline ROWs, oil & gas contracts, surface and mineral titles, and gov't laws/regulations related to oil & gas operations.

Secures necessary permits and provides notification to appropriate agencies and surface owners to protect Chevron’s License to operate.

Develops alternatives and options on complex Land/Legal/Business problems and recommends appropriate strategies and solutions to Management.

Manages Contract Land Representatives working on multiple projects.

Develops creative and fully encompassing Reimbursement Agreements.

Networks with other Chevron business units on regional land issues.

Provide support and counsel during due diligence, acquisition and divestment of properties within asset portfolio.

Thorough understanding of condemnation process in various states.

Participate on project teams as land coordinator for projects that may involve public sensitivity.

Research market valuations of property to be acquired or divested.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $97,800– $192,600. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
